Opening Pathways for Students and Attorneys of Color to Thrive

Explore Legal Careers

We help students and recent grads evaluate whether a legal career aligns with their values and goals through career exposure, workshops, and personalized coaching.

Mentorship & Community

We connect aspiring and new attorneys of color with mentors and peers who understand their journey, offering support, encouragement, and shared wisdom.

Practical Legal Training

We bridge the gap between education and practice through hands-on training, bar prep stipends, and workshops tailored to identity and lived experience.

Our Mission

We guide people of color who are exploring or pursuing law into purpose-driven legal careers through early career exposure, career preparation, and law school admissions support, all grounded in mentorship and community.

We help individuals evaluate whether the legal field is right for them. For those who choose it, we ensure they have the tools, support, and community to excel.

The Challenge

The legal profession holds the power to defend rights, shape policies, and expand justice. Yet, it remains one of the least diverse fields in the country. Despite representing nearly 40% of the U.S. population, people of color make up only a fraction of practicing attorneys — just 5% of lawyers are Black and 6% are Hispanic.

But the problem doesn’t end with access. Even when attorneys of color overcome barriers to enter the profession, they often face environments that are isolating, exclusionary, and unsustainable. Without mentorship, practical training on how to navigate and practice law, and equitable opportunities for growth, too many attorneys of color leave the profession altogether — cutting short careers that could have transformed communities and strengthened justice.

This means the profession not only struggles to reflect the diversity of those it serves, but also fails to retain and elevate attorneys of color into leadership roles where they can shape the future of the law.

Our Solution

Bar None is more than just admissions support. We walk alongside students and early-career attorneys from underrepresented backgrounds at every stage of their legal journey to help them enter, persist, and thrive.

Explore + Strategize

A structured program for college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates to explore whether law aligns with their goals and values. Includes career clarity workshops, exposure to diverse legal careers, and one-on-one coaching.

Apply + Advance

Culturally responsive guidance for the admissions journey, from LSAT prep and fee waivers to personal statements and strategies that address systemic barriers.

Thrive + Lead

Provides mentorship, peer community, and the practical legal training attorneys of color often lack when entering the profession. Support includes bar exam stipends, identity-centered workshops, individualized career guidance such as resume and job application coaching, interview preparation, and hands-on training through partnerships with experienced attorneys and bar associations.

Why It Matters

If we truly want to close the justice gap, we cannot just open the door to the legal profession. We must walk alongside people of color as they decide if law is the right path, and equip them to enter, persist, and lead.

By building a legal community that reflects the diversity of those it serves, we strengthen the fight for fairness, equity, and justice in every corner of society.
